Welcome to the AWESOME Teen’s
Teens are this odd group of adolescent’s who are trying to figure out their place in the world. They are not children anymore, but they are not quite considered adults yet. They might not be adults, but they are in a prime in their life to do great things for God, and do things that are quite difficult and do them well. Many parents and other adults think that teens are only poised to do things like clean their rooms, do the laundry and clean the dishes, oh and make sure their homework is not only complete, but turned in the next day at school. But I would challenge that thought to say that teens are poised to take on more responsibility, other than mere chores. Teens are in a position to set an example for the adults in character, devotion and faith.
What a teen needs first and foremost is boundaries, very healthy ones that have expectations beyond normal chores. A good book was once written by a couple of teenage brothers, this book is called “Do Hard Things.”
It become a national best seller and it founded the movement called “The Rebelution” and it quotes the following scripture found in 1st Timothy 4:12:
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Let us adults never look down on the teens, but let us lift them up in love and expectations, then we can sit back and watch them shine for all to see and the glory of God. We are a growing ministry and we look forward to see where God takes these young men and women as they prepare to leave the nest and plan for their future, hopefully with the backing of the adults and the church.
