What To Expect During Worship

We welcome all visitors and hope that you feel at ease at Fort Avenue Church of Christ!

You are welcome to participate in any and all aspects of the service with which you are comfortable. Our services generally last about an hour.  Come as you are – you will find people who dress up, dress casually and everything in between. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Songs: We sing acappella hymns throughout the worship service. Hymnals can be found in front of each seat, and song lyrics are projected on the screens at the front of the auditorium.

Prayer: We offer gratitude to God for blessings in our lives, and pray for the needs of others. If you have a prayer request, please let us know.

Offering: Members offer monetary contributions to support the work of our congregation. As our guests, visitors are not expected to participate but are welcome to if they desire.

Communion: We participate in the Lord’s Supper (communion) each Sunday by passing & sharing unleavened bread and fruit of the vine. All Christians are welcome to participate in the communion to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.

Sermon: The preacher delivers a sermon from the Bible. Our sermons are relevant, engaging, and practical! We encourage everyone to open their Bibles and follow along as the preacher shares from God’s Word.

Invitation: An invitation is offered to those who wish to respond to the Gospel, rededicate one’s life to Christ, or to simply request prayers.
